The Board of Supervisors is a legislative body for the unincorporated area of Imperial County. There are five 5 Board members whose districts are outlined on the illustrated map. Each Board member is elected every four 4 years terms are staggered by the registered voters within their districts. The Board elects a Chairperson every year, as it deems necessary, from among its members. Robert Menvielle, is the 11th person to serve as Assessor for Imperial County. He is a lifelong Imperial Valley resident, who has been serving the public for the past 24 years as a property tax appraiser and County Assessor. He worked in the administration of three previous Imperial County Assessors before being elected Assessors on November 4, 2014. His background is in agriculture, having been raised on a farm east of Calexico in the Jasper School area of Imperial County.
