Welcome Back Teacher’s Luncheon

In August of each year, the Imperial Chamber is proud to honor the teachers in the Imperial Unified School District with an Appreciation Luncheon.  The catered event includes a guest speaker, member donated raffle prizes and freebees.  It is a very small token of appreciation, for those who are modeling the future of our City.

Parade of Lights

The Imperial Chamber hosts a Parade of Lights on the second Friday of each December, followed by the City of Imperial’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.  This event is a kick-off to Christmas In A Small Town, which follows the next day.  The Parade of Lights began in 2002 and has grown in participants, vendors, and residents of the entire Imperial Valley.  Parade floats/entries are judged and awards are given at Christmas In A Small Town. In addition, the Parade always ends with Santa, who then takes pictures and gives candy canes at the Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Christmas In A Small Town

Christmas In A Small Town is a day-long event, held on the second Saturday of December.  Vendors from near and far fill the streets of downtown Imperial to sell their products and services.  This event began in 1988 and has grown tremendously throughout the years.  The community looks forward to this event each year and it is estimated that close to 10 thousand people browse show up to shop and support our local community.  Santa always makes a presence for free pictures with the kiddos!  The Imperial Chamber takes great pride in being able to keep the “Small Town Feel” for our ever growing city.

Freedom Fest

Freedom Fest is the largest event in the Imperial Valley.  The Imperial Chamber, in partnership with KOX Radio and Imperial Valley College, hosts Freedom Fest on July 4th of each year.  This event draws close to fifty (50) thousand people from near and far.  Vendors are on-site to sell food, drinks and goodies, there is a “children’s area” providing activities for kids and at 9:45 the fireworks begin, synchronized to patriotic music.  It is a fun family event which begins at 6 pm and is over after the firework show.  Regardless of the weather…which is typically 110 degrees, this event always draws a great crowd.  This event has been running since 1991 and is going strong!

Annual Dinner

The Imperial Chamber Annual Dinner is held in June of each year.  The dinner is designed to honor our members, provide an overview of the Chamber's progress, inform Chamber Members on the goals of the future, as well as, acknowledge and thank outgoing Board Members, and introduce in incoming Board Members.  Each year the Chamber also honors an individual with the Patricia A Gotti Award.  An award given to a special member of the community, who goes above and beyond to serve selflessly.

MEMBER EVENTS

Mega Mixers

The Imperial Chamber recently changed its Mixer format to better serve its members.  Mega Mixers are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at a different location.  These mixers are “Industry Specific”.  As a benefit of membership, members are offered an opportunity to showcase their business, sell products and/or services to the community.  This also allows members to network with others and grow their business.

Grand Opening - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Chamber LOVES welcoming and highlighting new businesses in our community.  In partnership with the new member, the Chamber staff and board of directors show up to welcome the new business and new member to the Chamber and to the community it serves.  The Chamber is instrumental in bringing the press to the event.  You do not have to be a member to have a Grand Opening or Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, but we encourage it.
